Wit and wisdom,
from all ages

Our origin story

A diverse group of women chatting and laughing.

It all started when…

Founder Georgia Clark was moved by conversations with her mother, Jayne, about the feeling of disappearing as an older woman. Georgia was inspired to create a warm and inclusive space where women of all ages could come together and be celebrated. The night launched in New York in mid-2017.

Brooke Farmer and Donna Logue were in the audience for the first Generation Women Sydney pop-up show later that year. Inspired by the night, and with their shared passion for women’s stories and lively events, they produced monthly shows together from 2018–2023. Generation Women Australia is currently run by Donna Logue.

Generation Women Australia is driven by a vision of uniting and empowering 100,000 women through storytelling events and initiatives over the next 10 years. Find out more here.

Generation Women blends a lively literary salon with the tradition of handing down wisdom from community elders. Join us around the matriarchal campfire for an intimate monthly event that celebrates the hearts and minds of many. Alongside cis women, we cast all gender expressions including non-binary folk and trans women.

All are welcome to join us.
